Nifty at 90: Cranberry woman loved school and creating inventory boards

Cranberry Township resident Shirley Ann Alden, who turns 90 today, celebrated her milestone birthday with family last week in Oil City.

Today’s Nifty at 90 spotlight features Shirley Ann Alden of Cranberry Township, who was born in 1935, grew up in Tippery, and built a life grounded in family, faith, and hard work. From her early school days at Sage Run to her career with Home Interiors, Shirley poured pride and dedication into everything she did. She and her husband, Richard, married in 1955 and built their home together, raising three children and eventually welcoming grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Though Richard passed in 2014, Shirley continues to cherish the life they built, surrounded by the family that recently surprised her with a celebration for her 90th birthday.
