No one injured in Oil City fire

From staff reports

No one was injured in a fire at a home at 110 Hone Avenue in Oil City that broke out a little after 12:30 p.m. Friday.

The damage, according to Oil City Fire Department captain Eric McFadden, was “pretty minor for what it could have been.”

McFadden said there was damage done to the stove, wall and ceiling as well as some smoke damage in the kitchen.

He said that when firefighters arrived at the residence the homeowner had the blaze almost out and firefighters had to do a little bit of overhaul and “open up the ceiling and wall” where there was a little bit of residual fire.

Firefighters were on the scene until almost 2 p.m..

Oil City police also responded, McFadden said.
