Nominees sought for small business awards nominations

From staff reports

The U.S. Small Business Administration is seeking nominees for its small business awards.

For nearly 60 years, the SBA has been celebrating small businesses that exemplify exceptional innovation, growth, community engagement and resilience, according to an SBA news release, and it allows individuals and community leaders to honor entrepreneurial spirit.

Awards for Small Business Person of the Year and Exporter of the Year are held annually at the local and national levels.

In western Pennsylvania, a Veteran-Owned Small Business Person of the Year will be recognized.

Award winners will be honored during National Small Business Week, April 28-May 4.

Downloadable forms, criteria and guidelines for submitting a nomination for the Western Pennsylvania Small Business Person and Exporter of the Year can be found at www.sba.gov/nsbw.

The local Veteran-Owned Small-Business Person of the Year guidelines can be found on the district’s website at www.sba.gov/district/western-pennsylvania.

All nominations must be received by electronic submission only to the SBA Western Pennsylvania District office BOX account. Deadline for submission is 4 p.m. Dec. 7. Mail-in applications will not be accepted.
