OC man killed in Halyday Run crash

From staff reports

An Oil City man was killed in a one-vehicle crash Monday along Halyday Run Road in Cornplanter Township.

Franklin state police said Mark “Alex” King, 34, was driving south on Halyday Run at about 2:45 p.m. when his vehicle went across the road and struck a utility pole.

Police said King’s 2015 Chevrolet Malibu then struck a tree head-on and spun 180 degrees before overturning.

The crash occurred about 300 feet south of the road’s intersection with Spruce Lane, police said.

King died at the scene from blunt force trauma, according to Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh.

Police were assisted at the scene by Cornplanter and Rouseville volunteer firefighters and Community Ambulance Service.
