Oil City man charged for traveling to areas in nude

From staff reports

An Oil City man is facing charges after he allegedly traveled in the nude to several public and private areas in Oil City in May.

A criminal complaint filed through district judge Andrew Fish’s office said that around 6:30 a.m. May 26, Shawn Andres, 36, traveled while wholly nude onto privately owned open lands attached to 9 Shady Oak Lane and did reach the areas surrounding Venango Catholic High School.

Andres came into contact with a woman on the school site, causing her to flee in fear of her safety, the complaint said.

Around 3:50 p.m., Andres was observed on open public property in the beach area near the Oil City Marina. There, he fell down a hillside and injured himself to the point that he cried out for help, the complaint said.

Individuals in the area discovered Andres and contacted Oil City police, and officers arrived on the scene with emergency medical services. Andres admitted going to various areas in the nude, the complaint said.

Andres is facing two misdemeanor counts each of indecent exposure, open lewdness and disorderly conduct and a misdemeanor count of agricultural trespasser posted land.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled July 25 in Central Court.
