Oil City man killed in Sugarcreek crash

An Oil City man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Allegheny Boulevard in Sugarcreek shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to Sugarcreek police.

Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh told the newspaper Zachary Hilliard, 29, suffered fatal blunt force trauma to the head as a result of the crash.

Sugarcreek police and other first responders were dispatched at about 7:55 p.m. to Allegheny Boulevard, near Two Mile Run Road, according to Venango County 911.

Police noted the crash involved entrapment.

Hilliard was pronounced dead at the scene; a second person was transported to UPMC Northwest with serious injuries, police said.

Allegheny Boulevard was closed for about an hour and a half, according to police.

Also responding to the scene were Franklin state police, the Venango County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin police and Community Ambulance Service, as well as fire departments from Rocky Grove and Reno.
