Oil City schools receive honor from Pennsylvania School Board Association

The Pennsylvania School Boards Association honored Oil City School District as a Great Pennsylvania School during Monday’s board meeting, presenting a ribbon to mark the district’s excellence in academics, financial health, and community involvement. Alongside the recognition, the board approved a number of agenda items and heard updates on upcoming events, including the return of the Quilts of Valor ceremony on Nov. 10 and the middle school’s “Field of Flags” project to honor veterans. Additional approvals included a retirement, updates to substitute and coaching rosters, and several student trips, such as the marching band’s visit to Virginia and the senior class trip to New York City in 2026.
