Pink Splash for the Cure will return to Franklin

Cancer survivors let color fly as they gather around Egbert Fountain at Franklin’s Fountain Park in October 2024 to help dye the water pink. This year’s event is scheduled for Tuesday evening.

Before the City of Franklin shuts off the Egbert Memorial Fountain for the winter, Pink Splash for the Cure will host its annual fundraiser on Tuesday evening, dyeing the fountain’s waters pink to support the Kirtland Cancer Foundation. The event, which begins at 5:30 p.m. in Fountain Park, raises money to help Venango-area cancer patients and their families with non-medical expenses. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early at 4:30 p.m. to purchase shirts, raffle tickets, cookies, and memorial ribbons. HOLeY JEANS will perform at 5 p.m., followed by remarks from Kirtland Cancer Foundation Executive Director Kathy Horner and doctors Michael and Amanda Ward. At 6:30 p.m., cancer survivors will take part in the ceremonial fountain dyeing, and raffle winners — including the prize of a four-person Lake Erie fishing charter — will be announced at 7 p.m. Proceeds benefit the foundation’s charitable programs, including scholarships for local students impacted by cancer.
