Pitt-Titusville hub receives grants to help Venango County students

From staff reports

The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville’s Education and Training Hub has received two grants totaling $9,930 from Bridge Builders Community Foundations in Venango County.

The funds will benefit nursing and manufacturing students at the training hub.

The grant funds will be available only to students living in Venango County after all other funding sources have been exhausted to cover tuition and overcome other barriers that may prevent the students from completing their training.

Stephanie Fiely, the executive director of the training hub, noted that health care and manufacturing make up 40% of the workforce in Venango County, and she said “a grant like this can absolutely impact local employers favorably.”

She added that “providing affordable educational options that are applicable directly to the local economy help bridge the local wage gap in comparison to the national average. That is what makes our Hub partnership model unique and critical to economic development.”
