The American Red Cross is urging area residents to give blood this holiday season, a time when donations traditionally drop but patient needs remain high. Local cancer patients, trauma victims and newborns depend on a stable supply, and contributions made now help ensure lifesaving care continues without interruption.
Several blood drives are scheduled across the region:

Monday, Dec. 8
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; PennDOT Office, 255 Elm Street, Oil City
Wednesday, Dec. 10
12:30 to 5:30 p.m.; Cranberry Mall, 6945 U.S. Route 322, Cranberry
Thursday, Dec. 18
Noon to 5 p.m.; VFW Post 5958, 206 St. John Street, Titusville
Friday, Dec. 19
11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Atlantic Ave. UB Church, 160 Atlantic Avenue, Franklin
