An interim tax collector was appointed by the Sandycreek Township supervisors at a special meeting this week.
Supervisors unanimously appointed Arielle Russell to the position. Russell has lived in the township since 2009 with her husband, Jarrod Russell, according to Dawn Jankovich, the municipality’s secretary/treasurer.
Arielle Russell was the owner and operator of the now closed Perfection Hair Studio on Congress Hill Road, Jankovich said. Jankovich said Russell was unable to have her name added to next week’s election ballot because of timing issues, but township residents can vote for her on Tuesday as a write-in candidate.
Starting Monday, tax payments should be made to Arielle Russell, Sandycreek Tax Collector, and mailed to 922 Congress Hill Road, Franklin.
Jankovich said anyone with questions or concerns can call the township office at (814) 432-3372.
