Franklin woman waives hearing in endangerment case

From staff reports

A Franklin woman accused of being under the influence of drugs as she walked around outside in cold weather with a young child waived her preliminary hearing Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.

Angel Sneltzer, 33, is facing a felony count of endangering the welfare of children, a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest and a summary count of public drunkenness. Her case will now proceed to the Court of Common Pleas.

Franklin police said in a criminal complaint they received a report of a woman, later identified as Sneltzer, acting “extremely erratic” while walking with a small child under the age of six outside the Oak Hill Apartments on April 20.

When police arrived they noted that Sneltzer was outside carrying the child, who was only wearing a pair of sweatpants in 35 degree weather, to “random places outdoors,” the complaint said.

Sneltzer continued to act “extremely paranoid, violent and erratic” and admitted to using methamphetamine while caring for the child, according to the complaint.

When officers tried to get Sneltzer into the back of a patrol car, she became “extremely violent, kicking and thrashing at officers” and continued to kick the doors and windows of the patrol car once she was inside, the complaint said.
