“Singin’ In the Rain,” a 1952 American musical, is an entertaining mix of romance and comedy.
Two popular silent movie stars, Don and Lina, are forced to make the transition to “talkies,” and everyone has trouble with the change, but most of all Lina, the female lead who cannot sing.
Along comes Kathy, who wishes to be an actress and adds to the complications.
This classic story will play live on the Barrow-Civic Theatre stage, beginning Friday evening.
There will be a red carpet premiere to celebrate the golden age of Hollywood. Guests are encouraged to dress in 1920s attire, as they will walk the red carpet.
Also included at Fridays premiere with the cost of tickets is a red carpet photo shoot. The premiere begins at 5:45 p.m. and showtime is at 7:30 p.m.
The show, which kicks off Franklin’s Applefest week, will be shown for two weekends.
“Singin’ In The Rain” is directed by Hannah Faraone. The musical choreographer is Kelly Zerbe and musical director is Jodi Hoover.
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday; 2 p.m., Sunday; and 7:30 p.m., Oct. 2-4.
