Statewide PennDOT Workers Memorial to visit Venango

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will display its statewide Traveling Workers Memorial at the Venango County Maintenance Office from July 30 to August 7. The memorial, featuring 93 white stands each with a hard hat, safety vest, date, and name, honors PennDOT employees who died in service since the department’s founding in 1970. Maintained by the Bradford County facility, the memorial travels across the state to pay tribute to fallen workers, including Venango County’s Robert “Rob” Greenlee and Seth Baughman, who passed away on June 18. It will be open to the public during daylight hours, including weekends, at the PennDOT building on Route 8 in Sandycreek Township. Visitors are advised not to park along the roadway or block gates and are encouraged to visit during less busy times. Ten employees from the northwest region, including counties like Crawford, Erie, and Mercer, are represented in the memorial.
