Cranberry High School’s quirky “Super Berry” mascot made a surprising run in The64, a national high school mascot tournament, defeating opponents like a bird, a husky, and even a Jeep before placing eighth overall. The competition, created by entrepreneur Justin Woo, aims to celebrate the creativity, pride, and community spirit mascots bring to schools. Cranberry’s entry was coordinated by English teacher Tricia Dixon and her journalism class, who submitted a video showcasing the Super Berry. Though the mascot was eventually defeated by Virginia’s Hampton Crabbers, Cranberry has already qualified for another tournament in October, keeping the Super Berry spirit alive.
