United Way of Venango awards mini grants

Several area programs and agencies were the recipients of mini-grants from the United Way of Venango County.

The recipients of the first round of mini grants were issued to the Pennsylvania State Police for the “Shop With A Hero” Day in conjunction with Family Service & Children’s Aid Society. The second grant was allotted to Youth Alternatives which is located in Oil City with a satellite site in Franklin. This mini grant will be used at the Youth Alternatives after school program in order to help support their Canjo Workshop for kids.

The recipients of the second round of mini grants were issued to the Oil City YWCA to help support their Safe Sitter Program and The Western PA Junior Achievement Program that has been administered in area school districts.

The United Way of Venango County has been conducting the series of mini grant screenings and allocations in order to help support local programs that enrich the lives of Venango County residents in the impact areas of health, education and income.
