Venango County Sheriff’s Office AAA Award

Venango County Sheriff Deputies Richard Goldsmith, left, and DevinJohn Crisafi pose with AAA’s Community Traffic Safety Award, which they received on behalf of the sheriff’s office recently. AAA’s Community Traffic Safety Award Program gives communities platinum, gold, silver or bronze awards for their “efforts to improve local traffic safety for all modes of travel,” according to AAA. This is the second year the sheriff’s office has received the gold award. During 2025, Venango County Sheriff Eric Foy said his office held a license plate event to help people replace unreadable license plates, did child seat checks, bicycle patrols, mock traffic stops with Rocky Grove High School students, school bus safety patrols and participated in bike rodeos for kids with PennDOT. Foy said his goal for next year is to increase the traffic safety initiatives his office is doing and win a AAA Platinum award, the next level.
