Venango Region Catholic School system seeking president

From staff reports

The Venango Region Catholic School system – a private, educational institution of the Erie Diocese for students in pre-K through Grade 12 in Venango County – is actively seeking to fill the position of president.

“We are very excited to have begun our search for this key position,” said Deb Sobina, director of Venango Region Catholic School and chair of the president search committee. “This is a tremendous opportunity for someone to help shape the future of Catholic education throughout the Venango region.”

Catholic schools in Oil City and Franklin areas formed the Venango Region Catholic School last year after a significant period of study, collaboration and feedback.

“By formalizing our commitment to work and plan together, we are strengthening Catholic education in the Oil City/Franklin area,” said Greg Merkel, chair of the Venango Region board.

The president will lead and direct operations of the school system as well as implement its philosophy and meet its objectives, according to a press release from the diocese.

A history of effective fundraising, fiscal responsibility and a demonstrated ability to lead change processes in complex situations are among the skills required for the position.

A detailed job description and application instructions can be found at www.ErieRCD.org.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
