Wanted OC couple arrested in Florida

An Oil City couple on the run from Venango County were arrested Monday in Florida.

Kody Wilkins, 28, was arrested by the Daytona Beach Shores Public Safety Department at about 11:30 p.m. Monday for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, as well as for having an open warrant out of Pennsylvania.

Shani Alcorn, 28, was also arrested for having an open warrant out of Pennsylvania.

Oil City Police Chief Bob Wenner said his department had multiple firearms-related charges against Wilkins.

Venango County chief probation officer Robert Daugherty said Wilkins had been on house arrest as a condition of pre-trial bail when he removed his electronic anklet before leaving the area.

Alcorn was on pre-trial bail with several charges related to the sale of methamphetamines.

An arrest report said a Daytona Beach Shores public safety officer stopped the car the two were in after finding that the Pennsylvania registration had expired in December.

Alcorn initially said her name was Shani Wilkins but there was no record found for that name, the report said. Police later determined her real name and found that she had an open warrant out of Pennsylvania.

Wilkins, who had been driving, was found to have an open extraditable warrant out of Pennsylvania as well.

Two Florida men who were in the vehicle were also arrested.

After conducting a search of the vehicle, police found about 12 small plastic baggies, three small plastic baggies with a white powder residue inside of them, a glass smoking pipe with a white and brown residue inside of it and various other paraphernalia.

Wilkins and Alcorn were placed in the Volusia County jail.

Daugherty said the two had previously been arrested in Port St. Lucie, Florida, but were released from jail because the extraditable warrant hadn’t shown up in the system.

“They’re facing criminal charges in two separate jurisdictions there in Florida, so there’s no telling how much time this is going to take,” Daugherty said.
