Work to begin soon on 2 Venango County bridges

From staff reports

PennDOT has announced that work will begin soon on two bridges in Venango County — the bridge that carries Route 8 over Cherry Run in Rouseville and the Rynd Farm Bridge over Oil Creek in Cornplanter Township.

Work on the Rynd Farm Bridge, located between State Park Road and Old Bankson Road, is expected to start Monday.

The bridge is classified as in “good condition” by PennDOT, and more than 2,400 vehicles are estimated to use the bridge daily.

Work on the bridge over Cherry Run, located near the intersection with Route 227 in Rouseville, is expected to start Tuesday, Aug. 29.

The bridge is classified as in “fair condition” by PennDOT, and it is estimated that more than 4,000 vehicles use the bridge each day.

Motorists may encounter traffic delays and lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers during active work hours.

Work on both bridges is expected to conclude in September.

Swank Construction Company of New Kensington is contracted to make the repairs to both bridges for $468,729, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.

Work on both structures will include milling and paving, deck scarification, overlays, seal replacements, the installation of sidewalks and ADA ramps, and line painting.
