Work to resume next week on Cranberry, Rockland roadways

From staff reports

Work will resume next week on a project to improve more than 10 miles of roadway in Rockland and Cranberry townships.

The project includes the following roadways:

East State Road (Route 2006) – from Route 257 to Hill City Road (Route 2015) in Cranberry Township; 3.6 miles

Rockland Cranberry Road (Route 2013) – from the East Sandy Creek Bridge to Route 322 in Rockland and Cranberry townships; 2.6 miles

Deep Hollow Road (Route 2035) – from Route 322 to Bredinsburg Road (Route 2006) in Cranberry Township; 4.2 miles.

The project began last fall, and work last year included paving and updates to guiderail and drainage.

Work this year will include sealing of bridge joints, line painting, seal coating and rumble strips.

Work is expected to start Wednesday, weather permitting, and be completed by June.

Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.

The contractor is Shields Asphalt Paving of Valencia. The contract cost is $4,125,511.97, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.

This year, PennDOT’s Northwest region expects to do work on more than 100 projects. A full listing of all the anticipated work can be found in the 2024 construction book located under the Resources tab online at www.penndot.pa.gov/District1.
