Young Emlenton drummer wins Celebration of Talent

Luke Pentz of Emlenton, a drummer, was the first-place winner in the Celebration of Talent competition Saturday at the Barrow-Civic Theatre in Franklin.

The event was sponsored by the Barrow and the Franklin Rotary Club.

Singer Alexander Karg of Pittsburgh took second place, and the top five was rounded out by Will Ion (guitar/singing) of Cooperstown, third; Madison Wakefield (singing) of Titusville, fourth; and Bellina Devine (tap dancing) of Sandy Lake, fifth.

Pentz received $500 in cash sponsored by Eddie St. Clair — West Park Rehab. The second-place prize of $300 in cash was sponsored by Michael Dill — State Farm.

Third, fourth and fifth place each received a $100 Franklin Retail Association gift card sponsored by Jerry Gressley and the Franklin Retail Association.

Celebration of Talent is a variety competition where winners are determined by audience vote. Talent categories include vocal, instrumental, dance/movement, magician or other.
