Police investigating road assault incident

From staff reports

Clarion state police are searching for one or more suspects involved in an aggravated assault incident that occurred at about 4 a.m. Sunday on Route 338 near Blairs Corners Road in Beaver Township.

Police said a man was driving on Route 322 near Hirsch’s Meats when a vehicle drove up behind him and began to follow him closely. The vehicle then drove past the man into the oncoming lane, police said.

When the man turned onto Route 338, the same vehicle drove up behind him and the driver passed him and slammed on his brakes, police said.

That caused the man to pull into the opposite lane, and when he did travel back into the right lane, the vehicle rammed into the driver’s back quarter panel of the man’s car, police said. This caused the man to spin out and crash, police said.

The apparent hit-run driver then fled the scene, police said.

Police are searching for a white Ford Crown Victoria with a spotlight and a possible decal on the driver’s side door in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Clarion state police at (814) 226-1710.
