Sugarcreek police identify suspect in BB gun theft

From staff reports

Sugarcreek Borough police said they have identified a Meadville man as the suspect in the Aug. 27 theft of a BB gun at Rural King.

Police said they charged 21-year-old Dakota Corner in the theft after they gathered information from store employees about who was with Corner. Police said they obtained the address and phone number of the driver of the vehicle that transported Corner to and from Rural King.

When police arrived at the driver’s home, they found Corner at the home.

Corner told police the BB gun was inside the house, and he complied when officers advised him to hand the BB gun to them, police said. Corner was advised he would be charged with retail theft.

Officers also recovered a container of BBs that was also stolen from Rural King, police said.
