2 Oil City men face theft charges

From staff reports

Oil City police said two men are facing charges after being identified in a September theft case.

In a criminal complaint, police said they responded on Sept. 22 to a report of theft on Cedar Avenue, where the residents told them items had been taken from the house by two men employed by a furniture business.

The men were later identified from a photo lineup as Jason Grazier, 29, and Shane Merrill, 25, both of Oil City, the complaint said.

The items reported stolen included 182 pills of balcofen, 16 pills of oxycodone, three vials of methotrexate and a gold helix style necklace chain, according to the complaint.

Both Grazier and Merrill face five counts of misdemeanor theft of moveable property and five counts of misdemeanor receiving stolen property.

Both men have hearings scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, at 1:30 p.m. in the Venango County Courthouse before Judge Andrew Fish.
