2 people facing charges after incident in Franklin

From staff reports

Two people are facing charges following an incident Thursday in Franklin in which a Polk man is accused of fleeing from police and drugs allegedly belonging to a Franklin woman were found in the vehicle the man was driving.

Franklin police said they tried to stop a vehicle on Liberty Street driven by Jacob Orf, 33, of Polk, at about 9 a.m. Thursday.

Instead of stopping his vehicle, Orf fled down 10th Street and came to a stop behind Sander’s Market at the intersection of Hillside Avenue and Chestnut Street where he fled on foot, police said.

Two passengers in Orf’s vehicle said they demanded multiple times during the chase that Orf stop and let them out, police said. The passengers said they had no idea why Orf fled, police said.

Jennifer Graham, 38, of Franklin, a passenger in Orf’s vehicle was found to be in possession of more than 20 grams of methamphetamine, police said. Police also found Tizanidine hydrochloride and Gabapentin pills in a bag belonging to Graham, according to a criminal complaint filed by police.

Orf has been charged with two misdemeanor counts each of unlawful restraint and recklessly endangering another person, a misdemeanor count of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, and several summary traffic violations.

Graham has been charged with a felony count of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, four misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, and five misdemeanor counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

Graham was arraigned Thursday, and her preliminary hearing is scheduled Aug. 18 in Venango County Central Court.
