4 win people’s choice awards at Nature Art Showcase

Four winners were chosen in the People’s Choice voting at the Nature Art Showcase and Sale held at the Barrow-Civic Theatre in Franklin, based on ballots cast by hundreds of attendees. Jesse Wolfgang of Warren won the two-dimensional category for his spray painting “Transcendence,” while Mary Rose Ragon of Franklin took top honors in the three-dimensional category for her miniature natural scene, “Whimsical Woodland Wonder.” In the “On The Wing” themed category, Heidi Wirtner of Emlenton was selected for “The Hunter and The Taken,” and 13-year-old Cooper Greenlee of Polk earned the most votes in the youth division for his pencil drawing “Childhood in Nature.” The event was coordinated by the Penn Soil Resource Conservation and Development Council and the Council on Greenways and Trails.
