Big Lots plaza up for sale in online auction

The Big Lots plaza property at 697 Allegheny Blvd. in Sugarcreek Borough went up for bid around midday Tuesday, and bids can be submitted until 11 a.m. Thursday.

LoopNet, the website where the auction is being held, listed the starting bid at $450,000.

The plaza is more than 120,000 square feet with more than 17 acres and has a 97% occupancy rate. It houses another national retailer in Dollar General, according to LoopNet.

Other stores surrounding the property include Burger King, Giant Eagle, Rural King and Sheetz.

The property was built in 1986 with about 200 parking spaces, according to LoopNet.

As far as deeds go, the current owner is Franklin Commons Shopping Center, which is located at 678 Reisterstown Road in Baltimore, Maryland.

Sugarcreek Borough administrator Joe Sporer and Chris Snyder, a manager at Big Lots, both said they haven’t heard anything about the plaza going up for bid.
