Car cruise, bluegrass music planned Aug. 20 in Seneca

From staff reports

The sound of bluegrass music and revving engines will fill the air Saturday, Aug. 20, at Morrison Park in Seneca.

A car, jeep and motorcycle cruise will be held at the park from 4 to 6 p.m. The first 50 vehicles to register will receive a dash plaque.

Local bluegrass bands will take the stage from 5 to 7 p.m. for a free concert.

There will be a 50/50 raffle that will benefit the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department.

The first 100 attendees will receive a free hot dog from the Cranberry Lions food truck, and ice cream will be available from Boy Scout Troop 111.

In addition to the concert and cruise, Cranberry Township will dedicate a plaque at Morrison Park to Fred “Sonny” Buckholtz for his longtime volunteer work.

Buckholtz has been a Cranberry Township supervisor and Cranberry School Board member and been involved for many years with Troop 111 of the Boy Scouts.

He has also served as committee chair for the Cranberry parks.
