Paint Township discusses rehabilitation of vital road

Paint Township supervisors are planning major improvements, including a $1.8 million multimodal grant application to rehabilitate Doe Run Road, a key emergency and tourism corridor. The road serves as a backup route during traffic issues and connects to important areas like the Clarion River and North Country Trail. Additionally, the township submitted a $35,000 federal grant application for a feasibility study to create a trail spur linking Marianne Park to the Rail 66 Country Trail, aiming to boost walkability and tourism. Discussions also touched on maintenance issues around the township building, with officials emphasizing the importance of keeping the grounds presentable due to the building’s high visibility. Supervisors also approved the purchase of a Buffalo Turbine Blower.
