Franklin man facing child porn charges

From staff reports

A Franklin man is facing child pornography charges.

Franklin state police said in a criminal complaint that during April and June, Marcus Wylie, 28, received multiple inappropriate photos from a 14-year-old girl he was “dating” secretly and sent them to a number of other people via social media.

The girl said she met Wylie at a skating rink “over the summer and they started dating approximately 6 weeks later,” the complaint said.

She told police she mostly talked to Wylie over Facebook and Snapchat and she estimated she sent him about 10 inappropriate photos of herself, the complaint said.

She “denied any physical sexual relationship” with Wylie and said she sent him inappropriate photos and received photos from him, the complaint said.

Without her knowledge, Wylie sent a number of photos of the girl to six people through Facebook, the complaint said. In some of the photos, she was clothed and in some of the photos, she was without clothes, according to the complaint.

Wylie has been charged with seven felony counts each of child pornography and disseminate photo/film of child sex acts, a felony count of contact/communicate with minor-sexual abuse, and a misdemeanor count of corruption of minors.

He was arraigned Thursday and placed in the Venango County jail with bail denied because he is currently awaiting sentencing on similar charges.

Those charges stem from another case involving an underage girl in which Wylie pleaded guilty to felony counts of criminal solicitation-child pornography and unlawful contact with a minor -sexual offenses.

His preliminary hearing in the new case is scheduled for Wednesday in Central Court.
