Free open house set at Tarbell House

From staff reports

Tarbell House

The historic Tarbell House, located at 324 E. Main St. in Titusville, will host a free open house from 12-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11.

The open house, taking place during the Titusville Oil Festival, will begin immediately after the annual parade on Main Street. Members of the community and visitors to the area are invited to take a free tour of the fully-restored Italianate home and interact with local re-enactors portraying members of the Tarbell family. Complimentary light refreshments will be offered on site. Books by and about Ida Tarbell will be available for purchase.

The non-profit Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry and Tourism owns and operates the Tarbell House as part of their preservation and educational programs within the Oil Region National Heritage Area. With the restoration completed as of 2016, the property now functions as a house museum and event venue.
