Rocky Grove High School senior AydaGrace Orr was chosen as the winner of the Franklin American Legion post essay contest. Orr, who is the daughter of William and Karin Miller, is pictured here with Post Commander Richard Deeter. The essay topic this year was “Is the American Dream Still Relevant Today?” Each Legion post selects an essay to enter in the state competition, and the essays are judged through the district, sectional and state levels. Three statewide winners will be chosen and they will earn cash prizes and a plaque. The first place winner will be honored at the state American Legion convention in July.
