Heath’s Market to re-open at Hasson Heights site

Oil City’s Heath’s Market will open at a new location in Hasson Heights in the coming weeks.

“We’re waiting on some inspections. We’re hoping to be open in the next few weeks,” Heidi Wise, who is co-owner of the market with her sister, Rebecca Colvin, said.

Heath’s will be located at 25 Summit Drive by the Family Dollar in the former drive through bank building there.

Wise said not much will be changing other than the location and that the market will no longer carry the assortment of groceries it did at its former location on Bishop Avenue on Oil City’s North Side.

The recipes that will be used are still the original Heath’s Market recipes, the sisters said.

“We planned on doing something at some point, we just didn’t know what,” Colvin said of their goals after closing the store’s former location.

“We knew we weren’t done. We love what we do. Then the opportunity came up for this building. It is a better location than the old store,” Wise said. “We loved the old store but we needed a better location,” she added.

Heath’s closed at the Bishop Avenue site in late July.

The sisters added that they kept some equipment from the old store and will still be processing deer at the new location.

In May 2018, Colvin and Wise re-opened Heath’s Market, which had closed its doors in 2013. They bought the building and business from Jim Aikins.
