Mary Ann Richardson, a 1951 Franklin High graduate, is being inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame for her lifetime dedication to the community. Known for her 65 years of service with the Franklin Civic Operetta Association — over 30 of them as board chair — she played a central role in transforming the Kayton Movie Theatre into the Barrow-Civic Theatre. A longtime Joy Mining executive assistant, Richardson chose to stay in Franklin rather than pursue careers in New York or Pittsburgh, devoting her life to the arts and her hometown. Now 92, she continues to be a beloved presence in the Franklin arts community.
