Hollow Oak Press, an Oil City publishing company, is set to release its newest anthology, Short(b)Reads, on Sept. 12. Edited by local author and founder Amanda Pica, the book features short fiction paired with companion recipes created by chefs, bakers, and cooks, including contributions from both local and international talent. Local highlights include a family pierogi recipe from Matt Folwell, nephew of the late Joe Brozeski of Millie’s Pierogi Palace, and a coffee cake recipe by Stephanie Doll, which Woods & River Coffee will serve for a limited time starting Sept. 10. The book will officially launch during ARMA Fest on Sept. 13 at Core Goods, with copies available online and wherever books are sold. Hollow Oak Press is led by Pica, along with Austin Gray, Jessica Ritchey, and UK-based editor Scott Richards.
