Nifty at 90: Shippenville woman takes pride in her flowers

Angeline C. Mazzocchi of Shippenville is celebrating her 90th birthday. Born Sept. 10, 1935, in Pittsburgh, she was one of eight children and later worked as a Bell Telephone switchboard operator before marrying Salvatore Mazzocchi and moving to Marienville, where they raised six children. Along with being a homemaker, Angie worked in a school cafeteria and at voting polls, and after Sal’s retirement, the couple ran Mazzocchi’s Barn, a used furniture business. She is now the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and great-grandmother of eight, cherishing her daughters-in-law as well. A woman of faith, Angie enjoys reading, movies, music, gardening, and time with loved ones, including her close friendships with Bob and her cousin “Angie #1.” Her family celebrates her resilience, warmth, and love of life as they honor this milestone.
