Alex Johnston, Travis Shingledecker and Sebastian Green (from left) — all Franklin High School juniors who have been friends since kindergarten — formed their own band, “Liberty Street Little Band,” after learning and playing their instruments for eight years together. The three friends recently visited Sandycreek kindergarteners to celebrate the letter of the day, “R.” So, “rock and roll” was discussed along with how the trio created their own band. Johnston plays the trumpet; Shingledecker, the saxophone and clarinet; and Green, the drums. The three demonstrated their talents and played various songs, such as compositions from Star Wars and The Jungle Book. They also played patriotic songs in honor of Memorial Day. The trio will march in Washington DC for the Memorial Day Parade.
