Family and friends are celebrating the 90th birthday of Joseph Schiffer, a lifelong resident of the Galloway area known for his strong work ethic, devotion to family and decades of business leadership. Born on the Schiffer family farm, he learned the value of hard work early and later founded Schiffer Excavating Inc., Cooperstown Sand & Gravel and Franklin Concrete Products. Schiffer, the husband of Alice Gravatt Schiffer and father of four, is remembered by loved ones not only for his dedication to his businesses and community but also for his humor, generosity and steady presence throughout his 90 years.
