The North Clarion School Board directed Superintendent Steve Young to explore a $3 million tax revenue anticipation note in case the ongoing state budget impasse continues through year’s end. While the district remains financially stable, it is withholding cyber school tuition payments for now. The board also discussed raising pay for retired teachers who substitute and heard updates on the district’s thriving robotics program, which will compete in St. Louis and host a major event in January. Other highlights included the completion of the elementary playground, a Veterans Day celebration, and recognition for two state medal-winning cross country runners. A resident also petitioned to revive a home economics program.
