Oil City Uncorked fall wine walk set Sept. 23

From staff reports

Tickets are on sale for the “Oil City Uncorked” fall wine walk scheduled from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in downtown Oil City.

The event features an evening of wine sampling and strolling at various businesses in the city’s North Side business district.

Advance tickets are $30 through Wednesday and can be purchased at Core Goods and the Oil City Library during regular business hours or online at www.oilcitymainstreet.org.

Tickets may also be purchased at the door on event day for $35. All proceeds of “Oil City Uncorked” benefit the various downtown revitalization efforts of the Oil City Main Street Program.

“Because of Oil City’s geography, Oil City Uncorked is held twice each year with a spring event on the south side of town and a fall event on the north side,” said Kathy Bailey, the Main Street Program manager. “It is a critical fundraiser for our program as well as a way of bringing people into our downtown businesses.”

All wine walk participants must be 21 or older and must check in on the day of the event in person with a valid photo ID and ticket or confirmation in hand.

Participants will receive a map showing the host businesses and wineries, and a souvenir glass for tasting.

All samples must be consumed inside the host business.

Fifteen vendors will be participating in the event. They include Allegheny Cellars Winery, Black Dog Wine Company, Cart/Horse Distilling, Cellar 22/Pisano Family Winery, Country Hammer Moonshine, Deer Creek Winery, Emlenton Brew Haus, Fractured Grape/Novosell LLC, Groundhog Winery, Happy Hour Winery, Side Hustle Brewing Company, Starr Hill Vineyard & Winery, Two Birch Winery, Webb Winery, and The Winery at Wilcox.

Host venues include Artist’s Attic, Barr’s Insurance, CASA of Venango County, Center & Elm Antiques, Core Goods, Rafi & Klee Studios at Graffiti Gallery, H&R Block, Janney, Oh 4 the Love of Hair, Oil Creek Earthworks Pottery Studio, Trailasana Yoga Studio, Transit Art Gallery & Gifts, Venango Museum of Art, Science and Industry, Wye Bridge Hobbies and 228 Seneca St.

All the host venues are located within walking distance of each other.
