Rimersburg woman accused of shooting man in chest

A 34-year-old Rimersburg woman has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly shooting a 32-year-old man during an argument Tuesday evening at a residence along Route 861 in Madison Township, Clarion County. According to state police, Tiffany Sleigher retrieved a handgun from her vehicle during the dispute and later shot the man in the chest after he stepped out from behind a witness who had been standing between them. The victim was flown to Pittsburgh for treatment. Sleigher later told police the shooting was in self-defense and was taken into custody at her home in Toby Township. She is being held in the Clarion County jail after failing to post bail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 24.
