Special hunting license purchase time slated for military personnel

From staff reports

The Venango County treasurer’s office will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, for military personnel who were unable to purchase their hunting licenses or military antlerless deer licenses.

Treasurer Deborah Sharpe said applicants must bring their hunting license and doe application with them.

Special antlerless deer licenses are available to members of the U.S. military on full-time active duty who are Pennsylvania residents or those who have received an honorable discharge from the armed forces within the past 60 days.

Applicants must produce substantial proof of their military status.

The office will also conduct regular business as well on Dec. 1.

Additional information is available by calling the office, located in the courthouse annex behind the courthouse in Franklin, at (814) 432-9523.
