Tionesta man killed in crash

From staff reports

A Tionesta man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Cranberry Township.

Franklin state police said Casey Flowers, 32, was driving his vehicle on Route 62, near the intersection with Horsecreek Road, at about 10:30 p.m. when the vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a vehicle driven by Mitchell Mansfield, 60, of Pittsburgh.

Flowers’ vehicle spun about 90 degrees, blocked off one lane of traffic and became engulfed in flames, police said.

Mansfield’s vehicle was pushed backward into a guide rail, according to police.

Police said Flowers was found dead when they arrived at the scene.

Mansfield was taken by ambulance to UPMC Northwest, and from there he was flown by helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, according to police.
