Two Mile Run Regatta splashes into spring as racers from near and far come to compete

The American Power Boat Association’s “Spring Franklin” races brought high-speed excitement to Two Mile Run County Park’s Justus Lake over Memorial Day weekend, drawing racers and spectators despite unseasonably cold weather. Smooth water conditions on Saturday provided an ideal stage for competitors like Duffy O’Hara and longtime racer Dana Holt, while local favorite Mac Miller continued a family tradition by introducing his infant daughter Blakely to the event. Volunteers kept the action running smoothly, and families cheered from the hillsides, embracing the chilly but spirited atmosphere. While fewer campers turned out due to the weather, park director Luke Kaufmann praised the community’s upbeat energy throughout the weekend.
