Emlenton woman accused of child endangerment

From staff reports

An Emlenton woman is facing child endangerment and other charges for striking a man holding an infant so hard he dropped the child.

Franklin state police said in a criminal complaint that Christi Moore, 33, struck the man above his left eyebrow at about 10 a.m. Thursday in Scrubgrass Township.

The man was holding the couple’s five-month-old child, and he dropped the infant onto a bed when he was struck by Moore, the complaint said.

As Moore was being taken into custody she grabbed a victim/witness statement form that had been filled out by the man she struck and ripped it in half, according to the complaint.

She also shoved and pushed away from police when they took her into custody, causing the officers to use force to arrest her, the complaint said.

Moore has been charged with felony counts of endangering the welfare of children-parent/guardian/other commits offense and hindering apprehension/prosecution-conceal/destroy evidence as well as misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and simple assault.

She was arraigned later Thursday before district judge Patrick Lowrey.

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.
