At its recent work session, the Franklin school board highlighted student achievements and new initiatives, including a proposed firefighting club offering hands-on experience and industry certifications. The board also recognized the Franklin bocce team, which promotes inclusivity and placed eighth in its region during its first season, and celebrated third-grader Landon Neely for winning third place in the PBS Kids Writers Contest. Other updates included plans to purchase ovens for two elementary schools to improve meal quality and praise for a teacher who took 51 students to a state leadership conference. Several key budget and contract items will be up for vote at the next meeting.
