Franklin man accused of inappropriate contact with minor

From staff reports

A Franklin man is facing charges for inappropriately touching a juvenile girl as well as exposing himself in front of her.

Franklin state police said in a criminal complaint they were contacted in November by Children and Youth Services for a report of inappropriate interactions between Brett D. Beckmann, 34, and the girl.

The girl told police that over the past year, Beckmann had touched her inappropriately on multiple occasions and exposed himself to her, the complaint said.

The girl also said Beckmann had repeatedly entered her room late at night to try and speak about inappropriate topics with her, according to the complaint.

Beckmann spoke with police about these reports and admitted to all of them, the complaint said.

Beckmann was arraigned Thursday on felony counts of corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor and endangering the welfare of children as well as misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure, indecent assault of a juvenile and open lewdness.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.
