Man hurt in Franklin rollover crash

From staff reports

One man was injured when the vehicle he was driving slid off the road, hit a ditch and rolled over at about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday on Pittsburgh Road in Franklin.

Police at the scene said the Toyota Corolla was traveling through snow drifts near the Honeywell parking lot when a vehicle in front of the Corolla spun out of control. The driver of the Corolla then lost control of his car, and it skidded into a ditch and clipped some ground wires before taking down a small tree and rolling over into the grass.

The Corolla stopped just a few feet from a large electrical box in front of the Honeywell building.

Franklin police and Franklin firefighters responded to the scene. The driver of the Corolla was taken to UPMC Northwest for treatment by Community Ambulance Service personnel.

Police said traffic citations will likely be filed against the Corolla driver.

Police indicated that snow blowing across the road had been limiting visibility at times.
