Franklin state police late Friday evening reported an Oil City man died in an accident on Bredinsburg Road in Cranberry Township earlier in the day.
Police said Dylan J. Stewart, 27, was traveling west at about 4 p.m. when the accident occurred about 400 feet west of Black Beary Lane.
Police said the 2011 Subaru Impreza that Stewart was driving hit the right side of the roadway for unknown reasons, then traveled 62 feet before the front end of the vehicle struck a tree.
Police said the vehicle then spun 180 degrees and became engulfed in flames.
Police said Stewart was found deceased inside the vehicle.
Late Friday afternoon, Venango County 911 reported the portion of Bredinsburg Road near the accident scene was shut down because of the accident.
Also responding to the scene were Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, Community Ambulance Services and Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh.
